The highlight of my high school career was winning the high school state championship for the second year in a row. However, I learned the most from my double overtime loss in the championship of my first bantam year. We went down 4-0 at the end of the second period. We managed to make a comeback and tie it at 5, I scored 3 and assisted 2, and then go on to lose in double overtime. This taught me how to persevere and how to treat every victory the same. At the beginning of the year we were a tier 4 team. I was able to step up and take a leadership role, being one of the oldest and longest playing boys on the team. With the help of my coach, I was able to learn how to lead the team in a way that would help my team succeed. We went on to get moved up to tier 2 and made it all the way to finals. Our team persevered through all of the odds against us. We were the third smallest organization in the state. I believe the lessons I learned through this one game and whole year is the reason I would be a good fit on your team.
