Holden Ward '24 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play hockey at the highest level possible, whether that be Juniors, D1 College, or if I work hard enough, the NHL.

A rule I live by is, “how you practice is how you play”. I find that good things happen the harder I work, so I make sure to treat practice drills like games.  My work ethic was developed in part by being a dual-sport athlete and having to transition between hockey and baseball each season. Being a switch-hitter required me to work twice as hard to get my timing back each season while at the same time keep up my strength and conditioning to be ready when hockey started.

I feel that being a good teammate is just as important as being a good player. On the ice I focus on being a two-way player. As a center, I work the full sheet of ice shutting down the other team on defense and breaking out for rushes. On the forecheck, I enjoy battling in the corners and behind the net. I can usually create a quality scoring chance.
