Personal Statement (as an 8th grader in 2021)
Tell coaches about your collegiate goals and aspirations.
My goals for high school are to make it into honor classes such as honors Science and also honors Civics. And to also at least have a 3.8 GPA and to succeed in athletics. For college, I am interested in studying business as a major and engineering/world language as a minor.
What makes you a good candidate for their team?
I would love to play college lacrosse because from the first time I tried lacrosse I knew I would play this for the rest of my life because of how much I enjoy it. I would make a big difference to a college team because I love working with people no matter what skill level. If they are at a higher skill level than me, I will learn and become better. And if they are at a lower skill level than me, I would make them better so I can surround myself with people who are willing to grow. I love to give mid-game speeches or keep the heads high even if we are losing. If someone has a good play, I will hype them up because I know with confidence comes a better player and team
What makes you different from other recruits in character?
Other kids who play lacrosse are usually after the win of a game. I also would love to win, and I believe learning from a win, loss, tie, or practice is where people really grow and where people can go from the benchwarmer to the starter.
What makes you different from other recruits in athletics?
For my age I am in the 97th percentile for height at 5’11 and proficient in all categories for state athletic testing. For example, in 8th-grade gym class during the 20-21 school year, I ran the mile in 6:47.
What makes you different from other recruits in academics?
In school, I average a 3.7 GPA and I am in Gifted and Talented and Advanced math.
