Declan Kelley '27 Recruiting Profile

I want to be a pilot, and hope to begin my pilot training next year for my private pilot license. My older brother attends Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as an Aeronautical Science major, and love watching and hearing about the experience of becoming a pilot. I am fortunate to have success in class and maintain a 4.6 weighted GPA with multiple AP classes. I feel my strong academic foundation and focus in school will take me far in college. I plan to take the PSAT and SAT this fall 2024.

I have also loved playing lacrosse since elementary school. I enjoy being on the field and playing at a high level with my club Charleston Elite 2027 Blue and high school lacrosse team Lucy Beckham HS. I am a Long stick Midfielder and love the speed and agility of this position, from chasing down an offensive player, clearing and playing man down defense. I was fortunate to be team captain of the LBHS JV lacrosse team last year and was awarded MVP for the year. I have played for Charleston Elite 2027 Blue since its inception, in elementary school, and enjoy playing in showcases each summer, 2024: Atlanta Project South, Baltimore Kick off series #1, Crabfeast 2024. I work hard at practices and take my own initiative to get extra defensive coaching sessions, private agility training sessions and personal field time to help me become a better player. I am excited to further my lacrosse journey with playing in college.
