Hello, my name is Aaron Baffour and I plan on playing at the next stage of soccer for me which will be college soccer. I am 15 years old and a Sophomore at Service High School in Anchorage, AK. I've been playing varsity since freshman year and actually started 13 out of my 15 matches. My freshman year we had a very successful season going undefeated in our conference something that hasn't happened to our coach in his 19 years of coaching our high school. I was awarded with All-State and All-Region second team accolades for that season. During that season I got the pleasure of competing against incredibly talented players a good amount of them committing to high level college soccer. I train almost year round with my club team only taking a break in the spring for high school. Our club team went second in the last State Cup Final in a nerve-wracking game that went down to the wire that we unfortunately lost. I was the 2nd top scorer with 3 goals in 4 games.
I take my education seriously and don't plan on slacking on my academics I unfortunately due to personal problems actually had a very rocky freshman year but thanks to support of my family, coach, and counselor I'm back to work and taking responsibility on improving my GPA as I am a not just an athlete but a student-athlete. Although I do focus most of my time on soccer and school I have things that I do outside of that such as other sports such as basketball and football, and I am a member of BCA which is the Biomedical Career Academy. This program gives me the incredible oppurtunity to reach out into my community and learn from healthcare professionals living their daily life and give back by having an advisory class that you earn community hours in such as volunteering at a homeless shelter.
I'm going to consider colleges that not only can help me academically but athletically as soccer really is a big factor in my life. Thank you for time and for reading this.
Aaron
