While soccer is an amazing sport, for me, soccer is more than just a sport. Soccer has been a way for me to grow as a person. I have been playing club soccer for the past 12 years, and I have learned something new each year. Most importantly, soccer has taught me leadership, even when things aren’t going our way.
Soccer has also taught me that being a good teammate means more than playing the game, it’s about actively pursuing relationships off the pitch. I've learned that once a team becomes good friends outside of soccer the team plays better and enjoys every moment together. My favorite part of being on the team is getting to know the players and coaches and experiencing all the ups and down whether its on the pitch or in the classroom or simply hanging out.
I have also learned that no matter how good you are there is always room for improvement. This motivates me to push harder each time I am on the field because I want to be the best player that I possibly can be, it also motivates me in the classroom. I love soccer and I hope to have the opportunity to continue to play the game I love at the next level.
