I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. When I first started playing, my parents were worried that I wanted to spend more time picking clovers out of the field than actually playing the game. That all changed when I was 5 and I discovered that there was nothing better than taking the ball down the field and scoring a goal.
When I was 8, my family moved from Pennsylvania to Maine. I was immediately signed up to play travel soccer team in my new town, and because of that, I quickly felt at home and made lifelong friends, many of whom I still play with today.
In addition to soccer, I also run track. I enjoy running (I run the 800, the 400 and 200), but there's nothing like playing soccer. I really love the game, and I hope that I get to play while I'm in college.
During my senior year in high school, I was asked to play defense despite the fact that I was always an offensive-minded player. I did what was asked because the team needed someone in the back who had the speed and the adaptability to make it work. My coach kept me there for most of the season and told me that I was actually a good all-around player- in offense or defense. That made me feel like I made a difference to our team, and I was happy to do whatever I could do to help.
I'm very excited to keep playing in college, and my goal is to find a team that could use my skills, and where I can help to make a difference.
