UPDATE (March 25, 2021): I have decided to take a gap year to play soccer at an academy in Spain. I will continue my education in the fall of 2022.
Firstly, I would be a good candidate because of my coachability and ability to follow the instruction of coaches. I pride myself on that, because I believe it has greatly helped my development as a player. These qualities have also led to coaches having trust and confidence in me to do the job they ask me to.
In terms of my character, I have captained every team that I've played for from U-10 to U-15 (Bermuda teams). My coaches refer to me as having strong leadership skills and having the ability to motivate my teammates not only when we're on top but more importantly, when things aren't going our way. Those leadership skills are also evident off the field. My ability to read the game has also made me a better player and asset to my team.
Athletically, I am a robust, confident player who is not afraid of the physical nature of soccer. My strength and fitness allow me to perform at an extremely high level. I am also confident in my game and not afraid to take chances that help the team to be successful.
As far as my academics go, I have made the honor roll in each trimester that I've been at Williston Northampton School, where I started in September of 2017. My teachers regularly praise me for my leadership in the classroom and my participation in all areas of classroom activity.
I firmly believe these qualities combined, make me an ideal candidate for and an asset to any college soccer program that I am fortunate to be selected for.
