Soccer has been a significant aspect of my life for as long as I can remember. I first started playing when I was four years old and haven’t looked back ever since. Playing for a high-level soccer team has taught me about sacrifice, perseverance, and balance. I have often had to choose between hanging out with friends, going to parties, or training. But to succeed at a high level, you have to make sacrifices and be committed to the team, which is something that I will bring to the next level. I have also learned that even when things don’t go your way, you have to persevere. I didn’t always make the starting lineup, even while being the hardest worker on the field. Although I worked as hard as possible, it never guaranteed me success. However, to get through hardships, I take advantage of every opportunity presented to me instead of dwelling on them. Finally, soccer has taught me how to maintain balance in my life. As much as I prioritize soccer, I prioritize academics just as much, if not more. I have learned how to manage going to practices every day, going out of state for tournaments, and my religion, all while being a straight A student. I believe I have what it takes to compete and thrive at the college level, being a great student as well as a good leader and teammate.
