Hello, my name is Luigi Gencarelli. Playing soccer has taught me the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline. On the field, I have learned how to work collaboratively with my teammates, strategize under pressure, and stay committed to my goals despite setbacks. I primarily play as a center back, but I am also comfortable playing as a right back and left back. I attended St. Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, NJ for my freshman through junior year of high school soccer. I recently transferred to Nutley High School and I will be playing on their soccer team for my senior year. My club team is Union County Football Club (UCFC)-Genoa. My collegiate goals for soccer are to take full advantage of the coaching and training facilities to become a more well-rounded and effective player, while also supporting my teammates and fostering a positive team culture. My academic goal is to specialize in sports physical therapy, where I can utilize my background in soccer to create tailored rehabilitation programs that will help athletes recover efficiently and safely.
