Hi, my name is Maxwell Yang, and I am a sophomore graduate of 2023 at Edgemont Jr./Sr. High school. Ever since I first played for a local travel league in first grade, soccer has been a passion of mine. A decade later from the start of my career, I am beginning my journey to play the sport I love at the collegiate level. If there is one thing I learned from my first two years in high school, academically excelling is as important as being good at soccer. With this in mind, I aspire to explore a major in the mathematics field that would give me the experiences and knowledge to grow as a person and a student. On the field, I plan to be a positive influence and a leader to my teammates. With my competitive nature, I will push myself and my peers to win and become the best versions of ourselves. In addition, I am looking forward and open to receiving constructive criticism and other tips. I am nowhere near a perfect athlete, and I am willing to admit that fact. However, I hope to learn from the best and become the best soccer player I can be. With my height, strength, and speed, I am also able to play many positions, and I will play wherever the team thinks I will perform best. Lastly, I will show respect to my teammates, coaches, and opponents on and off the field. Playing college soccer is a feat that not many players can achieve. But with hard work and discipline, I hope to obtain my goals, as well as becoming a better person both mentally and physically.
