Personal Statement
My name is Tiernan Dunne, and I am a junior in Fort Worth, TX. I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old, and I started playing club soccer at age 9. I love to play soccer whenever I can, and I watch professional soccer in my free time. As a player, I have speed, physicality, vision, tenacity, and composure, and I have strengths in both the technical and tactical aspects of the game. I am currently playing center back but have also played midfielder in the past, so I can combine the fitness and cool-headedness of a mid fielder with the grit and strength of a defender. I always have and always will put my team first on the field, and I am very coachable. For two years in a row, I have been a starting center back on my varsity soccer team, I was chosen to be a captain for them this upcoming season, and I was named All-Zone in my conference this past season. I also started at center back on the club team that I played for during my freshman and sophomore years. I signed with the Dallas Texans U19 ECNL team for my junior year, and so far I have been starting for those games in center back as well, which is giving me a ton of experience at a much higher level of play. I am a hard-working student with excellent grades, so my academic goals are very important to me in addition to my sports goals. I have also run cross country and track for my high school in the past, and I hope to be able to play college soccer at a serious program where I can contribute in a meaningful way.
