Hello Coaches,
My name is Donato Farina, and I’m a goalkeeper from Houston, Texas. I currently attend Klein Cain High School and play for GFI Academy in the MLS Next league.
I’m a dedicated, disciplined, and resilient player. I never give up on my goals, and I’m always looking for ways to improve both on and off the field. What drives me is my passion for the game and the desire to keep growing as a student-athlete.
What makes me different is my work ethic, leadership, and focus. I take my academics seriously and maintain a strong balance between school and sports. I understand that being a great college athlete means being reliable, coachable, and committed to the team — and I’m ready for that challenge.
My goal is to find a program where I can contribute, continue developing my game, and be part of something bigger than myself. I’m excited about what’s ahead and look forward to connecting with coaches who believe in hard work and character.

- UIL Texas State Playoffs 2025 – Klein Cain High School Varsity Team During the 2025 UIL State Playoffs, our Klein Cain High School Varsity team advanced all the way to the State Final in Georgetown, Texas, ultimately becoming State Champions. The playoff run consisted of six knockout matches. As a goalkeeper, I shared duties with our senior keeper and started in three key matches, including the State Final: Area Round vs. Conroe HS I started and played the full match, keeping a clean sheet through regular time and extra time (0-0). Result: Win in penalty shootout. Regional Final vs. Bridgeland HS Started and secured a 1-0 victory with a clean sheet, helping our team qualify for the State Final. State Championship Final – Georgetown, TX Started in the final match of the season. Result: 1-0 win — Clean sheet in the State Final. These matches highlight my ability to perform under high-pressure situations, recording three clean sheets in the most critical stages of the tournament.

- The High School always participates in this event with the Varsity team because it is a showcase for us. This is my Junior year and I shared the position with 2 other goalies who are in their Senior year. I played equal time with the other 2 and played all 3 games.

- I participated in this showcase with the club on the ECNL RL 08 team. We were 2 goalkeepers, there were 2 games and I played the first half of both games. We played at the Dallas FC headquarters.

- I participated in this tournament with the club on the ECNL RL 08 team. Our first game was with a team from Canada. We won that game with very good saves. I have very good videos from that tournament.

- I participated with the Klein Cain HS Varsity team, we played 3 games, 1 per day. It was a showcase for the team. I had a good performance in the first 2 games, I couldn't play the third because on the second day when I went out to defend the goal, the opposing player came at me with his knee and injured my leg. But that game was very good and in the end I caught her, which was the mission.
