Personal Statement
My name is Colin Morris and I am a 6'2" 145 lb Center Defensive Midfielder. I have played many positions outside of Defensive Midfielder for Chesapeake United and Deep Creek High School Varsity teams. I became interested in Soccer the summer of my freshman year and I decided to try it out and give up the sport I was truly best at, baseball. Everyday since I made that decision, I have had a soccer ball at my feet. I don't have the long time field experience as most people do, but I definitely can hold my own on the field.
One of my many goals is to go to college and earn an Engineering degree while playing soccer. I pride myself on being a great student on the field and in the classroom. I train and compete in soccer year round and I believe my commitment to training and to be trained will not only help me in my personal life, but in my athletic and academic life as well. I have relocated often through out my life, due to my parents being in the military. Deep Creek High School is my 9th school that I have attended I have been able to adjust to new environments easily and that is one of my best traits that I am most proud of. I am committed to the decisions that I make, and I will always give my very best to everything that I do.
Soccer is a sport that I love and brings me happiness. When I am on the field, I feel at peace, free of all my problems, and I can just play my heart out. Playing soccer professionally is one of my biggest dreams and I am willing to put in as much work as there is needed to make it professionally. I have made it from not playing at all to becoming a varsity player on my high school team and a captain on my club team in two years, and I can't wait to see what my future holds.
