Kyle Murphy '11 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing soccer since I was in 1st grade, making an impact on all the teams I have played on. At one point in my soccer career my parents moved me up from U-14 to U-19 with my brother, because they could not afford to put me travel, and they knew that I had the skill and the strength to play at that high of a level. From the age of 13 I have played with and against men that have played on their High School's Varsity soccer team. I go to a very small school with a minimum number of men in the high school. I tried to get my local public school to let me play, but they said that it was against the league's rules. Due to this, I was not able to play high school soccer until I formed a team to play one legal game against a school that came in second in a small private school league, who we beat 3-1. The next hear, my junior year, my school combined with another school (Norther Virginia Christian Academy) to play soccer. After that school closed down the next year, our school combined with Ad Fontes Academy. I was the captain of my team all three of these years. This whole time I have been on an SFL team for Reston. I have lead this team to the finals of many regular season tournaments and ALL-Star tournaments. When I was 15 I lead the defense to the finals of a 6 game tournament, in which we ended up loosing the finals in Penalty Kicks. I have wanted to play College soccer my whole life, and I was even offered a position on a college team (Baptist Bible College) after going to a camp for a week, but this is where my problem comes. My family can not afford to send me to college, so I will have to pay for it myself. My dream is pay for at least some of my college with my skill with the soccer ball at a Christian College. I have great grades in school, with a 3.7 GPA. My school is focused mainly on academics, and so all of my classes are considered advanced. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for giving me the talent that I have.
