Personal Statement
When I was 10 years old I decided I wanted to be a swimmer. The following year, when I was 11, I tried out for my first swim team and was not chosen. At first I questioned if I was good enough to be a swimmer but ultimately decided it was something I really wanted to do and I knew I could succeed in whatever I set my mind on. I found another local team, tried out, and made it! By the first meet I was selected for the 11-12 boys A-relay and just one year later I found myself tied for High Point at our league championship meet.
My love for swim has only grown from there and at age 13 I joined my first year-round USA team, knowing I wanted to pursue excellence in the sport. As a 4.0 student, my goal is to swim for a top program at a school that values academics and athletics.
