Personal Statement
I live by the quote "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard". There is always someone out there with more talent but if I work harder, then I can beat them. When I moved with my family from Virginia to North Carolina we tried the public schools and it was not the best fit for me. We decided as a family to go to The O'Neal School which is private. It was a big challenge for me academically and I had to buckle down and work very hard. Good grades at O'Neal are earned and not given. As a student athlete I push myself for greatness. I strive to be trustworthy, loyal and honest in character. As a swimmer I love being part of a supportive team where we can push each other to be better but also competing against my own individual times.
