Personal Statement
I began my swimming career at the age of 6 with the influence of my mom, who played competitive sports in high school and through college. I see myself in collegiate swimming not only because I have a passion for the sports, but I enjoy challenging myself and love to race against other swimmers. I am a very dedicated and hard-working individual when it comes to the activities I have a passion for.
I work hard in the classroom and take my schoolwork very seriously, I have maintained a high GPA (straight A) and I enjoy taking challenging AP and honors courses that make me think.
In addition to sports, I also played music instrument (piano, violin and viola) since I was 6, and I played violin as Concert Master in NCYO and played viola in nationally recognized CSYO and my high school Honors Symphony Orchestra. I have volunteered at various places, such as para-swimming and nursing homes.
Swimming on a club team for nine years and swimming for my high school team every year has developed my teamwork and leadership skills as a teammate. I am interested in pursuing a degree in engineering plus a business minor.
I see collegiate level swimming as an exciting lifetime opportunity to swim another four years at a higher level to fulfill my passion. I enjoy the challenge and team dynamics that come with swimming and helping me grow as an individual and teammate. I plan to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business and a MBA down the road.
