Attaining a spot as a finalist at the Canadian Junior Nationals has been by far one of the greatest accomplishments in my 14 year swimming career. It was only six months later that I would land myself a spot in the Junior Olympic trials. Unfortunately due to COVID, things took a halt and my once loaded routine boiled down to online workouts for the following few months. One of the things that impacted me the most during this time was my motivation - or lack of it. I had to learn slowly to shift my perspective not towards just upcoming meets, but to focus on my personal development as an athlete and towards improving my overall strength and conditioning.
I am eager to return to a regular routine so I can use what I have learned over the last few months in quarantine to my full advantage in upcoming competitions, and I am hopeful to find a program that will allow me to succeed as both a competitive swimmer as well as in academia to the fullest of my abilities. I am confident I have the determination and the passion to carry your team forward in the fall 2021 program!
