I have always wanted to swim in college. My goals include wanting to improve my times as well as my training. I know that training is where the improvement begins. I am a very hard worker both in and out of the pool. I believe that being a good candidate doesn't necessarily mean being the fastest swimmer in the pool. Throughout my high school career I have learned that doing whatever it takes to benefit the team is what matters most. In swimming, while there are individual events it has to be thought of as a TEAM, if you want the TEAM to be successful.
I have had a lot of changes over the past few years in swimming. Things that were out of my control. While it was crushing to go through that, it has helped to make me the person and swimmer that I am. I lost a coach that I truly trusted and believed in and to be able to rebound back from that has been tough for me. However, that is where I learned that being a team is what matters. I cannot control what someone else chooses to do. The only thing I can control is myself and my emotions. I am working hard at improving my times and this year(2020) at State I finally reached another goal of mine by achieving the Futures cut in the 100 fly (50.41). I am very much looking forward to swimming in college.
