Alec has been swimming competitively since he was six years old. He currently swims for three teams: during the summer for the Poplar Heights Crush in the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL); year-round for Clark Swim Club, now incorporated into the Nation’s Capital Swim Club (NCAP), in the Potomac Valley Swim League (PVS); and on the George Mason High School (GMHS) Varsity Boys’ swim team in the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 2 and 3. He held several Clark Swim Club long-distance and relay swim records, has competed in various individual and relay freestyle events in the Class 2 and 3 finals of the Virginia State Championship meet every year since he was a freshman, contributing to the GMHS men’s team first-place finishes in the Class 2 Virginia State Championship in 2018 and 2019, and eighth-place finish (out of 35 teams) in the Class 3 finals in 2020. He has earned a GMHS varsity letter, GMHS scholar-athlete award, medals and high school All-State recognitions in swimming each year since he was a freshman, and a PVS scholar-athlete award in 2019.
