My name is Nicholas Klein. I have been swimming since I was 12. Whenever I get in the pool, my goal for myself is to be a leader. I am very competitive and I give it my all during meets and in practice. My favorite part about the sport is when I hit the wall after my race and know that I gave everything I had to win. I also enjoy working with less experienced swimmers through my club’s mentorship program. My most memorable experience in swimming was when my high school’s 200 medley B relay team upset the visiting team’s A relay. I led off with swimming the 50 back in which I got my best time of a 29.98. Throughout my swimming career I have realized that swimming has taught me how to overcome significant obstacles, be resilient, and work through pain.
When it comes to a perfect fit for my future college, I am looking for a middle or small size school. I learn better when I have more feedback and interaction with my teachers. I am looking for a school that has a strong STEM program and has a solid swim team. Athletically my goal is to continue to progress throughout my college career and build strong bonds with my teammates. Academically I would like to graduate with a degree in statistics or analysis because I enjoy working with numbers and discovering trends and patterns.
