Thank you for reviewing my profile.
I would like to share a little about my experiences in track and cross country. But more importantly, I would like to share how I have applied these lessons to my everyday life. What school and sports often teach you is that not finishing first or getting a grade lower than an A can be a source of shame. My take is that we learn the most during our failures or shortfalls because it allows us to look back at what occurred, determine what we could have done differently, and take the appropriate action to improve the next time. Which is exactly why I run cross country and track. To learn how to embrace failure as a teachable moment. During my sophomore track season, I was out for almost a month while dealing with a setback. The initial shame I felt was followed by a realigning of my sense of purpose towards common goals: Follow my coach's direction, get healthy, and get back on track (literally)! Once I had returned to the track that season, I had set two personal bests. The lessons I have learned from that experience will further enhance my aspirations and provide me with the confidence and knowledge I need to be successful .
Consequently, I would like to take my running to the next level. I believe I would make an excellent addition to any college team with my work ethic, leadership abilities, and academic focus.
I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you to determine whether I would be a good fit for your program. Thanks for your consideration.
