To me, education is the most important priority. On top of being a competitive athlete at my school, I’ve always been competitive in the classroom as well. Over the course of my high school career my grades have always been improving. When I go to college, I will hold myself to the same standards as I hold myself to now, which is to always end the school year with a letter grade no lower than a B+. Whether it’s on the track, during a practice or meet, or in the classroom, I’m always giving 110%.
This year, some leadership roles I’m in are: captain of the track and field team, being an English tutor, and a senior helper. At New Trier, senior helpers are assigned to a freshman advisery and help the teacher guide the freshman onto good high school paths by sharing personal experiences and being a leader. I enjoy being a leader, and want to help others succeed. When it comes to track, everything I put into practices is to help improve the team. I value team success over personal success, and love to lead by example. This is what I bring to my team, and I know I positively contribute to whatever environment I’m in.
