Anthony Taylor '23 Recruiting Profile

I am writing today to introduce myself and to have some insight on your team.

My name is Anthony Taylor. I’m 17 years old, 189cm and 82kg. I’m Jamaican and I attend Munro College. At the start of this 2022 season, my Class 1 personal best was 44.73m with a 1.75kg discuss and my best  with a 1.6kg discuss was 50.22m

Over the years I’ve had my fair share of setbacks due to knee injuries and my school not having the facilities for the team to train through out the COVID period  but nonetheless I pursued discuss because of my love for the sport. My coach this year took the time out to work on my injuries and now I can confidently say I’m on path to throwing even further than I’ve ever thrown.

Track and field has also been a vehicle for my academic pursuits as well. While in these pursuits I’ve been given many leadership positions such as sub prefect, prefect, sports captain, track captain, student council representative, student council Vice president and president for various clubs. I was also an honor roll student in all my years of study and maintained a GPA of 3.3/4 before extra credit adjustments and elicited five grade 1’s in Cape. Being a student athlete has taught me a lot about leadership, time management and discipline: qualities fitting of a member of your team.
