I began running track in 6th grade. From my first track meet, I wanted to learn how to become a better athlete runner. After all the years of running, I enjoyed learning the skills of sprinting and hurdles. I gained great interest in hurdles after realizing that this event is one of my strengths. I desire to compete at the college level and understand that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I am a great teammate to my peers, especially when we are on the track. I encourage them by building them up and cheering them on. I share hope knowing that there is always room for improvement. It feels good inside knowing that I can be inspiring to both myself and my team.
In the classroom I am an achiever. I understand the importance of being a good steward and being a finisher. I am sure to ask questions when I need them and will graciously help others. It is important to me to always respect my teachers and peers while maintaining a good GPA and building relationships.
I want to go to a college where I can find a leadership team who will provide inspiration and a great push to keep me going in the classroom while studying for my degree. I also desire great coaching on the track to help with improving my skills. I am open to receiving help from others who have experience and give good advice for me to use. I am hopeful that the choice I make is impactful and inspiring to others as I develop into a great student-athlete.
