With luck I strive to compete at the highest level in college, and perform to the best of my ability both athletically and academically. Entering my freshman year in highschool I was not the best on the team; I was just a decently fast freshman who had determination. Through hard work and determination I made it to my varsity top 7 at the end of the fall xc season, only to fracture my hip a short while later. This took me out for an entire season, and took me 8 months to fully recover. When I got back for spring track that same year it was hard at first being that I hadn’t run in roughly 4 and a half months but I worked hard and again through determination I broke 5 in the mile my freshman year. Ever since then I’ve learned that hard work and determination always gets me to the places I want to be. The year after I became one of the top 10 fastest sophomores in the state for xc and was a #4 runner on a team that included a runner who would go on to run at footlocker nationals, and later Columbia university. Later that year I was the 3rd fastest sophomore in my state for the mile running 4:40. This past year has been my biggest yet as I am now a junior. With most of the team graduating it was up to me to help lead the team, I ended up coming in the top 20 in our emass Division 1 championship with a 16:26 5k PR on a XC course. This past indoor season I placed 8th in the division 1 championship, running 4:30 for the mile, and later a 2:01 split for the 4x800 relay leading my team to a 4th place finish. Thought this outdoor season has been canceled it’s only motivated me more for next year, as I’m training harder than ever before. With luck and more determination I can reach my goals both next year and in college.
