Growing up with an older brother isn't easy. I absolutely hated losing to him at anything. I always wanted to be better. Whether we were playing video games, ping pong, chess, or basketball in the driveway, I couldn't stand the feeling of loss. So I grinded and worked hard to compete with him. It was a while before I could compete and give him a taste of his own medicine, but I never gave up. This taught me that success isn't given to you, it is something that requires hard work.
This grind helped me lead our varsity basketball team to an undefeated season in 2020-2021. It helped me qualify for regionals in high jump as a freshman and, after losing my sophomore track season to Covid, break the school record as a junior and qualify for State. It helped me stay focused, remain calm, and jump 6'8" to win the State Championship.
I want to keep going. I am looking for a program that will help me achieve my highest potential and be a great fit academically. I am willing and ready to put in the work to be an elite athlete.
