Being a multi-sport athlete has taught me the importance of teamwork and how to persevere in high stress environments. Playing a high level of competitive hockey has allowed me to build endurance that sets me apart from my teammates and opponents. In my freshman year I began running track and quickly found my new passion. My strongest events are the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. My coordination and work ethic from previous sports allowed me to pick up hurdling easily and I qualified in both events for the OFSAA finals (Canadian equivalent to high school state championships), as well as placing third in the 100m hurdles at the Athletics Ontario Championship (Club championship).
Throughout my commitment to my athletic development, I have been able to maintain and achieve academic excellence. My academic goals for the remainder of high school are to achieve a 4.0 GPA.
I am now at a point in my life where I aspire to run at the collegiate level. Post-secondary, I would like to further my education in a professional field while continuing my track career. I am looking for a program that is a good fit for me athletically and academically.
