Personal Statement
My name is Mitchell Pack. I am going into my Senior year at Stephenville High School. This will be my fourth year on Varsity for Cross Country, 3nd year on Varsity for Track. I have qualified for the UIL Regional Cross Country meet the past three years and my goal is to qualify all four years in high school as well as qualify for the State meet my Sr year. I have been working with a trainer for the past three years on my form, race prep, race strategy and recovery which has improved my times dramatically. I ended last season with 7 top 25 finishes including 6 top 10 finishes. Since I started running competitively in 2018 I have 19 top 25 finishes and 9 top 5 finishes. My goals for my Senior year in Cross Country are to qualify for Regionals for the 4th year in a row and qualify for the State meet. I have set my training pace to achieve a 16:30 PR in the 2021 season.
The 2022 Track season is still several months out but I am focusing my training on improving my times in both the 1600 and the 3200. My 1600 PR is 4:51 and I have set my goal for 2022 as 4:40. In the 3200 my goal for the 2022 season is 9:55. Both these goals will set me up for a very successful outdoor track season.
My goal is to run competitively in college while getting a quality education. I am a hard worker both athletically and academically. I lead by example in the classroom and on the course. I am a relatively new runner so I am excited to see what the future holds as I continue training and running.
