I just finished my first year in track and cross country after transitioning from 10 years of competitive soccer. I continue to experience success including a 4:16.21 in the 1600m (with a 9th place finish at the Dogwood Classic), a 16:00 5k during my debut cross country season and a 7th place All-State finish in the Class 5 state meet. I started track last winter training in sprints and hurdles. I quickly realized that I find satisfaction in achieving my goals and setting new ones, something that happens more consistently in track than in soccer. My coaches have described me as focused, hardworking, a teamplayer, and having range and raw talent.
