My name is Caleb Selph, and I run cross country and track for West Springfield High School. I began my high school career in an American International School in Romania. Although I benefited from my international experience, it was academically challenging. At the end of 2020 and during the first COVID lockdowns in Romania, I discovered my true passion for running. Running became my place to find calm, and after my move to Virginia before my sophomore year, it became a place to find community as well. Within my team I try to use my experiences and the experiences of others to help me and my teammates grow and learn as people. My experiences of training and success with running motivated me to work harder in the classroom as well. In college I would like to study History, secondary education, and film production. I am primarily a distance runner, and I currently run cross country and track in the 1600, 800, 3200 and 5k events. My freshman year of college I hope to be in the top half of the competitive cross country runners on my team. I would like to be a part of a team where I can grow as a runner and as a leader over the course of my four years.
