I have been blessed by my parents in terms of athletic ability and mental toughness. I believe I get my athleticism from my mom, as she was a very talented basketball player when she was young, and I get my mental toughness from my father. In his 20 years service to the United States Air Force, my dad oversaw thousands of airmen and has worked with thousands of people. The lessons he taught on leadership and hard work serve invaluable. Because of my dad's work ethic and his insatiable thirst to succeed, he has been able to provide us a life that I wish I could one day give my kids. I know that whatever I want to do in life, whether it's running or real estate, I will thrive and prosper because of the lessons and values that my parents have instilled. In terms of running for a college program, I promise you that I will work harder than anybody else; I am never satisfied. Ever since I knew I wanted to go places with running, I have changed multiple aspects of my life so I can become a better runner; from what I eat to when I sleep. While my peers think I'm crazy, I know I'm working to achieve something indescribable with just words. I know some of what I say may be viewed as arrogance, but this is just how serious I am about getting to where I want to be. I don't care about the party scene or what I'm doing Friday night. I'm focused about what I will do tomorrow morning at practice, my splits on Tuesday, and how I have to get off my phone because I have to get eight hours of sleep. My work ethic and my relentless need to succeed will always set me apart and propel me to the places I want to be.
