For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to play college volleyball. If given the chance to play at the collegiate level I would definitely make the most of it.
When I was younger, my parents supported my interest in several sports - Competitive swimming, flag football, rock climbing, and volleyball. Volleyball is what ultimately ignited my passion for sport and became my top priority within athletics. Since I started playing volleyball I have learned a lot about myself. I enjoy working hard and pushing myself to succeed. I am always curious on how to improve and love watching my practice time pay off with in game success. I take advice from my coaches and my peers everyday to better myself. I find that my teammates naturally gravitate toward me and seek my advice. I do not take this for granted. I strive to lead by example both in action and word. My teammates trust me and we rely on each other.
I work hard in the classroom as well. I understand that my success in the classroom is the foundation for my success in the future and within the realm of athletics now. I also believe in looking outward to help others in my community. I regularly volunteer with the Salvation Army to deliver meals to the elderly. My parents and grandparents have instilled in me from a very young age to always make sure others have "enough" before focusing on what I may want rather than need.
I would like to find a college where I will be challenged both academically and athletically. At this age I would hope to attend a college near my home but as my horizons grow I would welcome other opportunities as well. I would hope to find a place where I can grow in all aspects of my life - Academically, Athletically, and Personally.
