Nicolas Vitatoe '25 Recruiting Profile

Since the start of my athletic career people have told me that they admire my motivation and the effort I put forth.  I had never noticed it, I was more focused on improving my game on and off of the court and helping my teammates and friends. But I do think that it is the reason that I've been able to grow so fast and transition from a weight lifting background into an outside hitter. Lifting was my first passion which was great because I didn't need anything but my own motivation but I now have grown to love the team setting. Whether leading or being the team player, for whatever team I am on I just want to do what is best for the good of the team. I think the reason that I didn't notice my own attitude towards hard work is because I have been in a heightened and competitive academic setting since the third grade. Starting in a gifted academy and now in a Health sciences academy working hard and putting in extra hours when nobody asked has become second nature. Hard work has become something that I have learned to love because I see it as the only way to succeed in anything worthwhile and is the main reason for my achievements. I want my college experience to be rewarding and challenging in all aspects of campus life so that I can look back on it and be proud of the time that I spend there.
