2022 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Ben Gavran, I have been playing Water Polo for 5 years now. I just finished my Senior High School year of water polo for North Allegheny High School. We are finished 18-4 and 3rd in the state. I finished with 50 goals,19 assists and 37 steals, as well as winning 93% of my sprint offs for the season, all while missing 2 games during the season. There is a good chance you have seen me play this season in one of the many High School tournaments across the state of PA. (if not, I can Supply additional Videos of my games) I wear cap 20. I also was a started for the 16U Junior Olympics Tiger Water Polo out of Pittsburgh PA. I Played in Texas this past summer. We Finished 6-2 and were 13th in the whole tournament. I play club Water Polo for the Tiger Water Polo team during the off-season. In the summer of 2022 I played for Carolina Select in the 18U session 3 Junior Olympics in TX. We won the gold in the gold division
As a team, North Allegheny finished a successful season winning the PA western conference title for the 3rd year in a row. and this year we finished 3rd in the state. last year we finished 4th in the PA State Championships. Individually, I had a very successful season as well. I mostly play the right- and left-wing positions as well the top sprinter in the swim offs. (Currently, I have a 21.73 in the 50 freestyle). I finished my junior season season with 42 goals and 56 steals. i have won over 93% of my sprintoffs. I was named 1st Team All-Western Conference as well as being named to the PA Honorable Mention State Team. This year for the 2022 season i was named 3rd team All-State. for my career i finished with 102 goals.
Along with my successful water polo career, I am a freestyle state qualifier in swimming for North Allegheny. I am a Freestyle specialist focusing in on the 50, 100, 200 freestyle and the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays. I finished 5th in the WPIAL championships in the 50 freestyle and 8th in the 100 freestyle. Current 50 free is a 21.73 and 47.39 in the 100 freestyle
In college I am looking to study business, finance or computer science (Cyber Security). I am interested in continuing my water polo career in college and wanted to see if we could talk to see what is needed to be a student athlete at in college.
