I aspire to play water polo at the collegiate level because water polo is so much more competitive in California and everywhere else, compared to Texas; although it is growing a lot bigger over the years, we are more of a "Football state" here in Texas. I have played water polo for more than 6 years now. I am a hard worker in the pool and I will do anything to better myself. I enjoy teaching and helping out my other teammates. I don't like losing a game with a passion, so I play every game like it's my last. I've got the most powerful left handed shot in all of Houston. I was awarded 1st Team All State Texas 2016 and have gotten most offensive player award 2 years in a row; not to mention, MVP as a Freshmen. Also, what I bring to the table is a strong sense of awareness in the field, always the first to react to the whistle and getting open. As a student athlete I try to better myself educationally. I typically make A's and B's in all my classes. Whenever I don't understand a topic in school, I always ask the teacher for help, I'm not afraid to ask. I have taken six AP classes because I like the challenge, I want to get good grades, I strive for it. I'm hoping that you will consider me for your waterpolo program, because all I want is a chance to play college water polo, and help my school shine. I won't disappoint you. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Luke Vrijland
