Since playing for a small recreation league in October of 2013, I have dedicated all of my off time from school and chores to softball. When I go to my friends houses I take my glove and ball with me....even if they don't play softball. I am very competitive and do not like to not be the best. My first year in softball I was the catcher. I liked being catcher and gave it my all but I really wanted to play other positions. We ended that season 0-7 but I knew softball was my sport. The next season I rotated in and out of catcher and first base finishing 6-2 for second place. My third season I started pitching, we put in a girl who had been wanting to be the catcher and we really found our rhythm. We finished season 3 with a record of 7-1 for second place losing only the championship game. That really stung and I knew next season was going to be our season. Season 4 I played all over the field but my main position was Pitcher. We won the championship that year finishing 8-0. My final season in this league we were in third place with a record of 4-3 going into our championship games. We played the second place 5-2 team beating them 10-9 and moving to the championship round where we played the first place 5-2 team beating them 7-6 and defending our championship finishing with a 6-3 record. In those two games I knew I did not want to lose and I focused every pitch, took my time, and threw faster than I have ever thrown. I pitched the third and fourth inning of both games facing a total of 14 batters and striking out 12 with one walk and one hit. I don't think I have ever smiled that big in my life. I'm not a sore loser but I definitely like to win. I try my hardest in school and I have made either honor roll or principals list in all but one quarter since kindergarten.
