Hello Coach,
My name is Taylor Stecher, I am currently 18 years old and I attend McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old, and I fell in love with this sport instantly. I have played other sports in the past, like, basketball, soccer, volleyball and hockey. However, softball was a different connection than all the rest. Visibly, my parents and coaches could tell the drive, the love and the passion that I have proved and showed during games and practices every day. It was the sport that I would get up early and practice for and want to get better at.
Since I have been playing softball for quite some time, I have fortunately been able to play all nine positions. However, the outfield - being able to make those diving and exhilarating plays and second base, where fast feet and quick hands are util, are the two main positions that I play currently and prefer.
At a young age, I had developed a competitive nature and personality - growing up with sports all around me would tend to persuade that type of environment. To this day, I get more and more competitive with everything I do, wanting to be the best and achieve success is the ultimate goal. I work well under-pressure, with quick problem-solving, thinking and reaction, that'd shown in many game time scenarios in both offense and defense - ending in positive results . As well as, I am a very studious person, I strive for perfection not only in softball but in my academics as well. I have now been attending a prestigious school with an overall GPA of 3.08 in my sophomore year.
It has always been a dream of mine to play at the collegiate level, since I was a young girl. I’ve watched many family members go through the collegiate level of their sport and absolutely loved each moment they had. I’m hopeful that one day that I’ll get to experience those memories too.
