My goals for college are to graduate with my Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering. After 10 long years of consideration I have bounced back and forth between different engineering pathways until I found biomedical engineering. As an athlete I have been told numerous amounts of times that “it is just a game”. Yes, it is just a “game”. But just because it is a game does not mean that there is no drive to push yourself in order to achieve greatness. A team will not achieve greatness until everyone on that team makes sure to put in 110% all the time. A wise person once told me that “a team is only as strong as it’s weakest link”. By allowing yourself to give 110% all the time, you allow yourself to grow. And growing creates new paths to go down. Additionally, as a captain, I make sure that my teammates are also giving it their all along with having fun in the process. A smile on my teammates’ faces is enough to help us keep pushing even if the odds are not in our favor. A smile gives us faith.
