September 2015Personal Statement
My goals in college are to play softball but also to be a successful STUDENT athlete. My overall goal is to obtain my four year degree in nursing then train to be a travel nurse, since one of my favorite things to do is travel. What makes me different from other recruits is how much heart I put into everything I do. I am very good when I am under pressure, because I stay very calm and focus on what needs to be accomplished at that moment in time. As an athlete, I always strive for the best and never settle for less than what I can do. I go to two different private coaches to work on batting, agility, fielding and pitching. Academically, I am very involved in Honors/AP classes while I maintain a 3.0 cumulitave GPA. I have competed at the District and State Science Fairs successfully since 8th grade, winning 1st and 3rd place, as well as receiving other awards. I have recently just made it to the International Science and Engineering Fair, where I won a Comprehensive scholarship for my science fair project. I also volunteer at my church for community service projects like Vacation Bible School, Feeding the Hungry, Toiletries for the Homeless, School Supply Drive, and Operation Christmas Child, I enjoy helping people and it makes me smile and feel good.
