Kailani Valenzuela-Conte '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kailani Valenzuela-Contem, I am attending Kohala high school. I am a highly motivated, conscientious, outgoing, and hard-working individual who is a confident student-athlete. I am passionate about many sports but when it comes to softball and stepping on the dirt with my cleats gives me a whole different vibe from any other sport I play. I am very competitive and love the thrill of playing softball. Growing up in a small town with little exposure to things is problematic but my goals and aspirations are still reachable even if my standards are high and hard to achieve because of where I live. 

I hope to exceed in everything I do as a student-athlete and use my talent and ambition for sports to create an enjoyable and successful future. Since I was small I have always got good grades in school and played every sport possible because I loved it so much. From playing t-ball and biddy basketball to playing high school ball really made me realize why I'm playing sports and always go back to it, it is something I really enjoy doing. Being coachable and respectful to my coaches is always a top priority for me in sports, but also being a team leader and well at communicating. Having good body language and picking myself up is always important to me and makes me different from many other athletes. Bringing toughness and energy to the team is what I'm made for while still having control over emotions. Being a playmaker is good but having consistency is what makes me different from many people. 

In academics I strive to do my best in every class. Being focused in school and strive to be the best isn't only in sports but in my education too. Pursuing a successfull career for a good future is what I'm striving for. Being a student athlete and having good attendance, complying to rules, good grades, no drama, and respecting teachers is also a top priority. Dealing with things off the field is just as important as dealing with things on the field.
