My name is Addison Whitaker I am in the graduating class of 2025 from Herscher High School in Herscher, IL. I plan to major in nursing. I play softball for the Dirt Devils 15U Jadron. I first became interested in softball when my older cousin was playing college softball and I was the little girl sitting on the sidelines thinking I wanted to be just like her someday, and it has been a dream of mine from that day on. Throughout my years of playing softball I have learned that I can achieve anything I put my mind to, and that nothing is impossible if you want it bad enough, and that is exactly what I want to do. I want to work as hard as I can to play the best softball I can and become the best person and teammate I can. I want to play at the highest level that I can achieve, but as for division, I am open to anything. I have been set back with a shoulder and a knee problem that have stopped my game for a little while, but nothing can keep me away from what I love most. I have always been told that in order to get into a good college and be able to do what I want with my life, the most important thing is having good grades. I am always up for a challenge. In school I take all honors classes, even if it means not always succeeding, because softball is a game of failure, and failure makes you grow. While taking these challenging courses, I have learned that I am more capable than I think that I am sometimes, and I really can do it. My academic goal for high school is to become a part of the National Honors Society, and my goal for high school/ college is to graduate with high honors. Thank you for taking the time to read this
