Softball isn’t simply something I do, it is my passion. From the moment I began in ponytails at the local recreation league I was hooked. I wanted to hit the ball farther, throw faster, have quicker feet and hands fielding the ball and learn how to pitch. The hours I put into what I consider my craft are countless, it is a 12 month a year commitment to lessons, team practices, and personal time at the field and gym. I am a fun-loving highly motivated compassionate person who cracks people up with my humor but when it is time for practice and games the passion and competitive edge kicks in. I pride myself in that I bond with my teammates and coaches. It would be a dream come true to be able to be a contributing member and play at the collegiate level.
Academics, family and volunteering are also very important to me. I set attainable goals in the classroom and am not embarrassed to seek assistance if needed. I work very hard to balance my GPA. I enjoy volunteering for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Public Health Department; working car seat and educational events. Spending time camping, on the slopes and vacationing with my family is something I cherish. My family has enabled me to reach all of my goals with their love and support on and off the field. Without their support I would not have had the opportunity to play all the years of travel ball with the Rochester Battery Lightning or to receive accolades such as back to back Sectional Championship wins, 1st Team All Tournament Section V/ MVP, back to back Wayne County Player of the Year, All Greater Rochester Team and 3rd Team All NYS (9th grade).
I am undecided what I will major in; however, I am leaning towards protective services and/or business. I have not ruled out a specific type of college setting, although the professor to student ratio is crucial. As of right now I am considering the eastern states of the country. I know when I step foot on campus the comfort level of the campus/setting the ability to be accepted in my major of choice and whether or not I will have an opportunity to work hard and earn a starting position on the field all will play a part in any decision my future may bring.
