Alyssa Powers '16 Recruiting Profile

I have been aspiring to be a collegiate softball player since I was in elementary school. I have not only been dreaming of this goal, but I have been putting in the hard work and dedication it takes to make this dream come true. I have been playing softball since age four, and I have always practiced hard and put in a lot of extra work to make myself better. I am open to many different options for college. I want to attend somewhere with a solid program that will push me academically as well as athletically. I am very coachable and enjoy being pushed to make my game better. I always want to improve my skills.

It is very important to me to be a good teammate. I always try to be encouraging and a leader on my team. I enjoy being a communicator and loud on the field, and I always make sure my team knows what is going on. I love being a part of a team and being a good teammate. I have an extremely high work ethic, and when I set goals in life I will do anything it takes to achieve them. One of my goals was to be a four year letter winner in both my sports. I am on the path to achieving this goal because I am a two year letter winner in basketball and a also lettered my freshman year in softball.  In my 2013 freshman high school season,  I was ranked seventh in Stark County's top ten best hitters for my four home runs and slugging percentage. I also have a 4.42 GPA and take all the honors and AP classes offered.

Other than sports, I am very active in my youth group and being a leader of Generation Change (a service project group). I am always striving to be the best I can be in life, academics, and athletics.
