Kristin "Kitt" Testa '28 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kitt Testa and I am currently a 4.0 GPA Freshman ant Canfield High School in Canfield, Ohio.  I have been playing travel softball since I was 8 years old and have always been the main catcher for my teams.  While I still enjoy playing other positions like RF, catching has always felt like a natural position for me.  Catching has taught me many lessons about working hard, never giving up, and to keep fighting when games are tough.  Softball has given me so many fun memories being together with my parents, teammates, and coaches, but it has also taught me a lot about the importance of practice and always being prepared.  

This past summer I was honored to represent my local community as we made it to the International Junior League World Series in Kirkland, WA.  We won the Ohio state championship, the Central Us championship, and in the championship game lost to the Czech Republic, 5-3.  I was so lucky to participate and contribute as this was such a great memory for me and my teammates.  It was such a rewarding experience to represent my hometown and I enjoyed being on ESPN too. Plus it was so much fun to meet other girls from around the world who love softball just as much as I do.  It been fun to keep in touch with some of them.  I am so grateful and thankful I was able to be a part of something so special like this was for me.  

I am really excited for my freshman season as my high school is the defending Ohio State Champion in 2024 and Runner-up in 2023.  I have been working hard to help make an impact on the team any way I can.  Most recently, I attend several camps where I've been learning my metrics and how they compare to my peers.  This allows me to set new goals for myself and track the progress, which my coaches tell me is very important. 

After high school, I would like to continue to  play softball in college at a school where I can be challenged as a student athlete to be best prepared for my future after college.  My goal after college is to attend dental school and pursue being an orthodontist.  Softball has given me many reasons to smile and as an orthodontist to make a lot more kids smile as well.
