Personal Statement

Hi. My name is Megan Fisher and I am a sophomore at Wapakoneta High School, a member of the Western Buckeye League. I am a three sport varsity athlete (Softball, Basketball,Soccer) and have earned a varsity letter in all three my freshman year. I have played softball for eight years starting with slow pitch and not counting t-ball. I began my softball career playing in Buckland, Ohio and later moved into the Wapakoneta softball world. I have pitched for all the teams that I have played on and believe that as long as your mind is right, you can accomplish anything, big or small.

My very first travel team that I was officially a part of was the Ohio Extreme which was out of Lima, Ohio. I pitched and played first and outfield for that team. Now I have recently joined and am still apart of the Findlay Blackhawks and currently pitch, play first, second, and stay active in the outfield. I also play school softball and enjoy every opportunity we get to play with the many rainy spring days limiting our playing days. I am the number one pitcher for my high school team and I play second, and can play anywhere if necessary.

My goal for college is to play college softball. I want to be a part of a team who takes practices and games seriously but also knows how to have fun in the moments that help bond us as a team and even more as a family. To pitch at a college level would be the most thrilling and motivating factor, showing myself that the years of hard work have finally paid off. Growing up, one of my major goals in life was to play a sport at the collegiate level, whether it be softball or basketball. Whether I am able to pitch in college or play another spot including first or outfield, I feel I will enjoy myself immensly and play to my fullest potential. I will always work my hardest and do my best to fulfill the necessary actions at each spot. With the time my high school team has put in, and the extra time I put in on my own and with my parents, I believe I can be a benefiting factor to any team. I will always do my best and help push my teammates to be the best they can be as well.

My favorite part about the sport that I love is the fact that no matter what, your team has your back. When I make a mistake, my team is there to back me up. When I swing at a bad pitch, my team is there to cheer me on. When and if I am able to play on your team, I want you to know that I will always be that teammate who supports and cheers others on and never gives up when something doesn't go my way or the teams way. When we do well, I will hold my head high. When there is an error, I will still hold my head up high. Even though discipline is key, you have to remember to not let your highs get too high, and you lows get too low.  Softball isn't life, but it is a big part of my life. I would love to pursue my career playing college softball and continue to grow with the talents that I was given. Rather if I'm playing D1 or NAIA, I will always do my best and push myself to become better than before. I will follow my aspirations in life, and continue playing the sport that I love. My sport is softball.
