As the ball was flying toward me, I jumped as high as I could and came crashing down on my butt, right on home plate. "Out!" yelled the umpire. It was a force out at the plate and the 3rd out to win the game. I knew then, as a 7 year old, that I wanted to be a catcher. While on this journey, I have been blessed to be on talented teams that have been #1 and #3 in the state. One of the highlights of my travel ball season for 2015 was finishing 2nd at the Eastern ASA "A" Nationals in Connecticut.
Winning always feels GREAT, but I have also learned that it isn't everything. There are always lessons to be learned, especially while losing. It is important to keep yourself and your team's spirit up - like when you make a mistake, learn from it, forget it, and move onto the next play. I have learned how to bond, communicate, and play with my teams in all situations and consider them as family.
I look forward to playing at a college that will help me to grow as an athlete, a student, and an individual. As I journey this road to get there, I will continue to work hard, and be the best that I can be in all these areas. This goal helps me reach higher and obtain the academics that I will need to play at a college level, once my high school chapter is over. I know that I have the talent to play at the next level and can't wait to make another big play!
