To Whom It may concern,
Ever sense I was in Kindergarten I knew I wanted to go to college and study to get a good job, but I also knew I wanted to play softball in college too. When I was 5 my dad was on an adult softball team and my family and I would go and watch him play. That is when I knew this was the sport for me. When I was 6 I watch my older cousin play in a softball and that is when I fell in love with being a catcher. Ever sense I saw that game I have worked extremely hard to become a strong powerful catcher. I have learned through out the year that a catcher is not just a player on the field doing their job. They are the Leader of the team. The catcher is the one who has to carry when the team maybe feeling down. The catcher is also the one has to be the extension of the their coach, the pitcher, and the umpire. I will never know everything about being a catcher but I make it my job to learn as much as I can. As a catcher I have learned how to control my emotions on and off the field. The reason why I have learned this is because I have noticed that if a leader begins to get flustered and fall apart the team will do the same. And the catcher is like the leader of the team. My goals for college is to be able to learn about my majors but all be apart of the softball team at the school too. Softball is my life. I eat, think, and breath softball. For me to play softball at a collegiate level would a life time dream come true.
Thank you, Victoria (Vicki) Garvin
