Lucy Houston '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I’m Lucy!  I am a 2027 attending McKinney Boyd HS in McKinney, TX.  I started my softball career in Barrington, IL.  I currently play for the Firecrackers organization (DFW North Worley).  I have played most positions but have focused on CF, 1B, SS, and RHP.  As a pitcher, I learned to successfully throw fastballs, drops, screwballs, and change-ups.  My favorite position is CF because I am fast and get to cover so much ground.  I am a strong base runner as well.  

My teammates would describe me as fun and supportive.  My coaches would say I’m a good listener, respectful, and a quiet leader.  I enjoy softball for the friendships and hope to go to a school where I make great connections, while having fun and improving as a student athlete.  I don’t know what I will major in yet, but I have considered being a Spanish teacher.
